ABOUT IIT - JEE

Joint Entrance Exam- Main (JEE- Main), formerly All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), is an examination organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India. Introduced in the year 2002, this national level competitive test is for admission to various undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the AIEEE score, mainly National Institute of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IITs).

The examination consists of only two papers. Paper 1 for B.E./B Tech courses and Paper 2 for BArch courses. A candidate can opt for any or both the paper. Paper 1 is mandatory a computer based test (called Online mode) from 2019. Till 2018, there was an option between OMR based and computer based mode. Paper 1 ha three subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Each one of the 3 subject sections consists of 30 questions each with equal weightage for every question. All questions are multiple choice objective-type questions each of which has four choices.

You can only give IIT-JEE exam two times in your lifetime and that too in the year you appeared for your board exams and the year next to it. For example if you appeared for class 12th board exams in year 2013 then you can appear in JEE in years 2013 and 2014. You will not be given more attempts in any case.
